The Isle of Arran lies in the dark blue swell of the Firth of Clyde off the west coast of Scotland. On the 21 March 2013 the island was hit by a blizzard that crushed the power lines running alongside the main ‘String Rd’and left the island without power for over a week. A recent commission for New Balance back in Flimby, Cumbria bolstered my affinity with this place… Wish I had a little more time up there to formulate my feelings into something coherent, maybe in the future this will all make some sense to me. I’ll keep on it…
Just realising how many images I have of my left hand testing light-fall before I shoot… It’s becoming a nervous twitch.

3 hours on the ground between flights on a last-minute commission in the Highlands… Would have liked to have stayed for the weekend. Gutted I didn’t have the foresight.
